Kibbey performs Germaine Tailleferre’s charming Concertino alongside conductor Nicholas Hersh in the Symphony’s SummerFest Series. Tailleferre was the only woman composer of “Les Six,”composers living and composing in Montparnasse, Paris. Their writing is seen as a neoclassical reaction to the symbolists of the day. Yet, in Tailleferre’s work, you can clearly hear the influence of Erik Satie and the textures of contemporaries, Debussy and Ravel.
